Installing or removing the Software Managerπ
The Software Manager is a self-contained application that you can run without installing it. However, you can install it for convenience.
Installing the Software Managerπ
When you start the Software Manager through the som
binary for the first time, it offers to install itself.
This will add a desktop icon and a start menu entry for the Software Manager.
If you choose to perform the installation, you can delete the original SOM binary as soon as the current session is exited.
Otherwise, just close the Welcome dialog, and continue to use the Software Manager without installation.
If another version of the Software Manager is already installed, that version will be upgraded.
Once installed, the Software Manager can manage itself from the page Installed.
Note
As long as the current session is still running, the Software Manager can re-install itself after you have removed it. Otherwise, you have to run the original binary again.
