The latest version of the MVTec Software Manager can be downloaded from our MVTec download portal .

How to install Software with MVtec Software Manager🔗

  1. Start the MVtec Software Manager
    ⤷ A web applictation will open automatically in your standard browser.

Note

If no browser opens or responds, you alternatively can use the Software Manager via the command line. Run the accompanying binary som, and open the displayed address in any HTML5-compliant browser on your system. For more Information, see Using the Software Manager from the command line.

If this is the first time starting the Software Manager you have to Login with your MVTec Account. For more Information, see Login information.

  1. Open the Available tab.
  2. Select a MVTec Software to install.
  3. Click the Install button for the software you want to install. You can also click the arrow to install the software for all users or to create a custom installer.

Note

Create custom installer for any product on the Available page by expanding the product’s install split button and selecting Create custom installer. Recommended packages are preselected. Use Select Packages to customize selections. For more information, see Managing packages in the Software Manager.

  1. Click Install to start the installation.
  2. The Software Manager will show you the End User License Agreement (EULA). To continue you must accepct it. ⤷ The installation process has started

How to update Software with the MVtec Software Manager🔗

Note

There are several ways to update MVTec software. This step‑by‑step guide covers updating via the icon. If an update is available, it is shown as follows:

  • Available tab: In the SOM’s Available tab an icon appears next to software with updates available.
  • Tray icon: When the Software Manager is running, an SOM icon appears in your OS tray. Use it to open the frontend or shut down the Software Manager. The icon changes to indicate update status. when normal when all products are up to date, and when at least one installed product can be updated.

  1. Start the MVtec Software Manager
    ⤷ A web applictation will open automatically in your standard browser.

  2. If an update is avaiable it will be visiable via the Icon. Click on the Bell.
    ⤷ A new page in SOM opens.

  3. On the newly opened page you either can choose to update everything with the UPDATE button. Or choose to update manually with CUSTOMIZE AND UPDATE button.

Note

  1. Adjust the environment of the Software. Confirm with the NEXT button.
  2. Start the update by clicking the UPDATE button.
    ⤷ The update process has started
