Managing packages in the Software Managerđź”—
MVTec products consist of individual components called “Packages”, such as such as “runtime files” or “example data” for an HALCON installation. Each product includes a default selection of packages designed to provide a usable installation for most general use cases. Managing packages can be done during installation, when updating, or after the software is installed.
Note
The Software Manager may request administrative privileges to install packages or write to protected locations. It never asks for your system password directly. It drops elevation as soon as it is no longer needed. For more information, see Admin privileges.

Using the custom installerđź”—

A custom installer is created as a ZIP archive that you can use like any other offline installer from the Software Manager. It contains the selected package archives and the newest SOM version currently available. The Software Manager supports creating custom installers for any target architecture for which the product is available.
